Actress Preity Zinta, who has accused her former boyfriend and industrialist Ness Wadia of manhandling, abusing and threatening her, landed in India on Sunday as requested by Mumbai police. Priety Zinta will personally record the statement of the entire incident to Mumbai police on Monday. Zinta had also issued a public statement on Facebook regarding the molestation case. She had said that her intention behind the complaint was not to harm anyone but to protect herself.
Zinta, 39, had filed a police complaint on June 12 accusing Mr Wadia, 44, of abusing her after the pair got into an argument while watching their team play the Chennai Super Kings on May 30 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Priety was in USA after filing the case until now. After registering the case the Mumbai police have done enough investigations and recorded the statement of witnesses in relation with the case.
In a statement last week, Wadia called the allegations “totally false and baseless”. Wadia has alleged in a police complaint that his company received threatening calls and texts from an underworld gangster referencing the Bollywood star. The caller identified himself as fugitive underworld don Ravi Pujari, the police said. A threatening message allegedly warned the Wadias against troubling Zinta.
