National award winning director Shivaji Lotan Patil is currently busy with the shooting schedules of his upcoming film Jaane Kyun. Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das are playing lead roles in this movie which is based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Written and produced by Harry Sachdeva, the film stars Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in the lead and is a true-life story of a family’s survival on the night of October 31, 1984 when the riots happened. News is that the actress would now also be learning Punjabi for her role.
“Yes, I am learning Punjabi for the part, and I’ve worked on my look. It’s a great author-backed role. It is an authentic film, and I look the part,” the actress confirmed. She added, “I like my new look. It’s very 1984. Vir Das plays my husband. He is an affable sardar. Then things turn intense. It’s actually a thriller, my favourite genre.”
The film which went on floors on May 10 was earlier halted voluntarily on May 16 at Gungrana. Talking about it Soha said, “We were all set to shoot. But the production team advised us that it may not be safe considering the election results were coming in. And there was almost no security on location. So we decided not to shoot on that day. Otherwise the shooting is moving most smoothly.”
