Complaint filed against Sivakarthikeyan for degrading boxing sport – kollywood Flash
A group of boxers has filed a complaint with the Commisisoner of Police, Chennai against Sivakarthikeyan’s recently-released film Maan Karate saying that the film didn’t depict the boxing sequences well but had only degraded the sport.
Krishnamurthy of Tiruvotriyur, Chennai visited the Commissioner of Police’s office in Chennai with a few other boxers and filed a complaint against the makers of Maan Karate and also against Sivakarthikeyan for starring in the film. In his complaint, Krishnamurthy has said “I have been a professional boxer for many years and have won many prizes and awards in State/national level competitions.
“I am also training many upcoming boxers. I happened to watch the recently released film Maan Karate which has many sequences degrading the sport of boxing. Instead of showing it properly, the director has depicted the fight sequences in a wrong manner and in a way no boxer would fight. I request you to ensure that such sequence should be deleted from the film forthwith.
“The film-maker didn’t seek any permission, suggestion or guidance from the Boxing Federation of Tamil Nadu. Had he done so, the sequences could have been filmed in a better manner. As such, what he has showed in the film is illegal. Therefore, I request you to take action against producer-cum-script-writer A.R. Murugadoss, director Thirukumaran and actor Sivakarthikeyan,” the complaint said.
